Who to call if you've seen him: Anyone having contact with Cui should consider him armed and dangerous. Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about Cui to call Robbery Homicide Division at 213-485-2129, or during non-business hours, call the toll-free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).)
Taizhi Cui is wanted by the LAPD for a triple homicide. He was aired on AMW four times from 2007 to 2009 however I believe they were all 15 Seconds Of Shame profiles.
In 2006, Cui's ex-girlfriend 51-year old Kyung Kang had left him for a 50-year old businessman named Seong Kim after Cui became domestically abusive. Cui had threatened that he would kill both of them and even purchased a .357 magnum handgun. On Oct 13, 2006, Cui went to the restaurant where Kang worked in the Koreatown neighbourhood of Los Angeles. Cui assaulted Kang and the restaurant's 45-year old manager, Jae Cho told Cui to leave. Cui left but returned later and shot all three people to death. Cho's wife discovered the three bodies. Shell casings lead authorities to Cui's apartment where the bloody handgun was recovered.
It was learned that Cui was born in China but spent several years in South Korea before coming to the US. He also reportedly participated in a human trafficking ring that sent South Korean woman to Mexico in order to be smuggled into the United States. When he originally came to the US, he started his own gypsy-cab business.
Thoughts? I consider Cui to be a very underrated fugitive. If he's in China then he's untouchable but it's possible to apprehend him if he's in South Korea. Authorities did pinpoint his cellphone movements between the US and Mexico after the triple homicide, but eventually the cell phone went dead. Tijuana and Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico (which borders California) also have large Asian populations so he could hiding out in those area and still be involved in human trafficking.
