John Arthur Volker- one of Texas's 10 Most Wanted sex offenders- captured in California after 15 years on the run! He was actually on my database of potential cases to profile. Guess I no longer need to worry about him.

Over the years, he committed mostly theft related crimes across the US and evaded authorities by using several aliases. He was arrested today in Utah. In 1982, Stanley Shane Self was convicted of child molestation in La Paz County, Arizona. He then fled and became a fugitive. He ended up in Alabama after living in Hollywood. He got caught because he applied for social security benefits under the alias of a man who had died in 1987, an employee noticed that and contacted authorities to arrest him.
^ You know, I wonder if there's going to be more fugitives caught that way in the coming years. The Baby Boomers are all getting ready to retire, and many will probably try to apply for government benefits. There's a good possibility a lot of fugitives in that age group (50s-60s) could get found that way.
