Suspect: Jesus Reyes-Joya
Moniker: “Chuey” or “Chewy”
Date of Birth: 12/25/1964
Description: Hispanic Male, 5’4” tall,
120 pounds, black hair and brown eyes
On Sunday, December 26, 2004, twenty-eight year old Jose Bustos-Santana was
at the El-Imperio Bar, which is located at 4320 Morrison Road, with a female
companion. During the course of the evening, a male patron of the bar began to
make loud and insulting comments that were directed at Mr. Bustos-Santana
and his companion. In reaction, Mr. Bustos-Santana confronted this male and a
physical altercation immediately transpired. It was at this time that Mr. Bustos-
Santana was shot and killed by the belligerent patron. During the course of the
investigation, the shooting suspect was identified as Jesus Reyes-Joya
(described and pictured above). After the shooting, suspect Reyes-Joya, who is
also known by the moniker of “Chuey” fled the area and has not been located
since. Currently, a warrant for Jesus Reyes-Joya’s arrest has been issued for
Investigation of First Degree Murder. Anyone having additional information on
this case or knowledge of the current whereabouts of Jesus Reyes-Joya is
