(Above photo credit: Unsolved Mysteries Wiki) From Unsolved Mysteries Wiki: Real Name: John Harden Nicknames: No known nicknames Location: Clermont, Florida Date: March 22, 1975 Case Details: John Harden was divorced from his first wife and living in his own home on Oscela Drive in Clermont, Florida with his second one. One night around midnight, he woke up to the smell of smoke and looked out to discover his truck in flames. As he was attempting to put out the fire, someone shot and killed him at close range with a .20-gauge shotgun. Police investigation noted that the phone lines to the house were cut and that the fire was set on purpose to lure him out. Suspects: None known Extra Notes: This case first aired on the October 30, 1991 episode with a focus on John's ghost in his house. Results: Unsolved unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/John_HardenUnsolved Wiki page for Harden House: unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Harden_HouseThoughts? I am placing this case in the Unsolved on tv section since or was aired on Unsolved Mysteries, although the focus on the show seemed to be on the rumors the Harden house is/was haunted. I'm not sure if the Harden murder itself is still being actively investigated but I guess calling your local Crime Stoppers or police line or contacting the Unsolved Mysteries website if you somehow have information couldn't hurt. I just saw this case on Unsolved Mysteries, I don't recall seeing it but I must have. Just doing some background research on the people involved and the case itself, now that there are more details out there on the internet, and I'm curious as to why the second wife, Victoria Mango Hardin, refused to participate in the show when it aired in 1991. I'm sure the authorities looked into everyone's backgrounds and did the proper due diligence, but there's something there with that second wife that needs to be looked into again. What did she gain from her husband's death for example.
