Robert was last seen in public on Sunday 7/28/2013 at a gas station in Newtown, CT, where he picked up bagels and put gas in his Volkswagen Golf. He is known to have returned home and last seen by one of his son's at approximately 10:00 am on Sunday 7/28/2013. At about 10 a.m., after sending a few text messages and playing online Scrabble for a while, Hoagland went outside to mow his lawn. He stopped the mower to say goodbye to his son, who was going out for a few hours. This was the last time he was seen. After cutting the grass, Hoagland put the mower away, slipped his loafers off and threw his clothes in the laundry, which were later found by his family. Everything in the Hoagland home was in its right place; there were no signs of disturbance.
His cell phone, passport and blood pressure medication were in his office. Police said he withdrew $600 from the Union Savings Bank in Newtown the Thursday before he went missing. His wife, who was out of town when Hoagland vanished, reported him missing the next day when he failed to show up at the airport to pick her up. The couple emailed regularly while she was out of the country, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Authorities searched woods and trails around his home to no avail.
Robert Hoagland was a self-employed real estate appraiser in Newtown. He also worked for an attorney in Bridgeport. He left a wife, 52, a culinary teacher at Newtown High School, and three sons, ages 26, 24, and 22.
Thoughts? I am placing Robert's case in the missing on tv section since, according to Wikipedia, his disappearance was profiled on the May 30th, 2016 episode of the ID channel show "Disappeared.": patch.com/connecticut/newtown/missing-newtown-mans-case-be-featured-investigation-discoverys-show-0
