Daniel San Diego is wanted by the FBI for two acts of domestic terrorism. He was aired eight times on AMW between 2003 and 2011.
On Aug 28, 2003, San Diego had two bombs detonate at the Chiron Corporation in Emeryville, California. The second bomb in incident was designed to target first responders. On Sep 26, 2003, a bomb created by San Diego detonated at the Shaklee Corporation in Pleasantion, California. The bomb contained nails which would have at least severely injured anyone who came in contact with them after the bomb exploded. A group called the Animal Liberation Brigade claimed responsibility for both attacks. San Diego has ties to this group. The companies were targeted because of their ties to Huntington Life Sciences.
Authorities had 24-hour surveillance on San Diego right after the bombings. On Oct 6, 2003, he parked his car in San Francisco, walked away and never returned. Agents found bomb making materials in the car's trunk which were very easy to obtain (at least many of the materials could be purchased at a local hardware store). In 1988, San Diego began to associate with Animal Rights groups which caused his motivation to commit the 2003 bombings. Most recently in 2011, tips placed San Diego in Massachusetts.
Thoughts? I don't feel that San Diego necessarily fled the US after going on the run or at least until the 2011 tips. He would have too many supporters that didn't feel like he did anything wrong and wouldn't give him up. His FBI poster mentions he has traveled internationally however so anything is possible.
