Thoughts? A stab wound to the face could have very easily been fatal, and Gonzalez's victim being a rival gang member did not deserve to be severely injured. We do know about some very distinctive tattoos on his upper body which could be the key to recognizing him. He is probably still getting protection from his Sureno gang and their criminal associates.
