Shields, Williow Shield, Hazel Woodman, Hazel Leota Woodman, Hazel Foley, Hazel Leota Foley, Kelly Morgan, Hazel Spurbeck, Willow Spurbeck, Hazel Haynes, Hazel Leota Haynes, Hazel Vincent, Deianna Ray, Hazel Fatuch, Hazel Leota Fatuch, Treasa Tess Jean Coyle, Treasa Tess Venable, Tess Venable, Tess Coyle, Treasa Venable, Treasa Coyle, Hazel Leota Sperbeck, Willow Sperbeck, Deianna Wray Date(s) of Birth Used: December 19, 1949 Place of Birth: Dayton, Ohio Height: 5'2" Weight: 120 pounds Occupation: Waitress Hair: Blonde (reddish) Eyes: Green/Hazel Sex: Female Race: White Nationality: American Scars and Marks: Head has a scar near her right eye. Remarks: Head has a gap between her front teeth. She may have gained weight. Head often works as a waitress, hangs out at truck stops, and likes to travel with truck drivers. She is a smoker, likes to drink vodka, and frequents casinos. She has been married several times, possibly to as many as 10 men, and is known to place personal ads seeking men. Head has a history of moving and living throughout the United States, and may have ties to Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Who to call if you've seen her: Local FBI field office or embassy or submit a web tip at tips.fbi.govHazel Head is wanted for the murder of her boyfriend, Charles Barker, back in 1998. Barker's wife had recently been killed by a drunk driver, and he inherited a lot of money from an insurance settlement. Barker, however, was depressed and spent most of his time at casinos near his hometown. It was at one of these casinos where he caught the attention of a woman calling herself Deianna Ray. Not long after, Ray moved in with Barker. His children were happy he had met someone, but his daughter, after meeting Ray, had second thoughts, believing she was only interested in his money. After a while, Barker began to realize this as well. During a phone call with his other daughter, Barker claimed he and Ray were having several problems, but didn't elaborate. After a while, his children hadn't heard from Barker for sometime. One of his daughters asked her aunt, who lived near him, to check up on him. When she arrived at his home, they found the door open and Barker's body slumped over the bar in the kitchen. He had been shot in the back of the head, and had been dead for a little less than a week. There was no struggle and the weapon, Barker's own gun, was found in the bedroom, clean from fingerprints. The cash he kept in his safe, his car, and his girlfriend were gone. Investigators found out that Deianna Ray was really Hazel Head, a drifter who hitchhiked across the country and latched onto lonely men in order to drain their bank accounts. Head would also place ads in personal sections of newspapers, had over a dozen aliases, and had been married at least ten times. Investigators found out that there was an outstanding warrant for her from 1991 out of Nebraska. Police say she burned down her ex-boyfriends trailer and went on the run. The last confirmed sighting of her was in December 1998 in Colorado, where she applied for a position as a waitress at a truck stop. What do you guys think? More than likely, she eventually got a job as a waitress at some diner somewhere in the south or west. She's in her early 60's today, so she probably is still alive, except for the fact that she may have gotten lung cancer due to the fact she was a heavy smoker. Thoughts? I must admit when I saw you post about her my first thought was "didn't we talk about her already?" To my surprise, we didn't. She's always in the back of my mind when I think of cold case AMW fugitives, along with being a unique female cold case as well.
As you said, it's possible she succumbed to illness thanks to her smoking habits, but not all smokers do. My best guess is she's still somewhere in sticksville, USA. Women like her will always need a man to leech off if still on the run. I actually wouldn't be surprised, if she hasn't found a man already, if she was on dating sites geared for older people.

PakMan on the old forums brought up a possible theory that Hazel Head was at some point murdered by a truck driver serial killer, not that likely but it would make sense. It's more likely that she's living somewhere in the South like Tonya Dice did for several years and not drawing any attention to herself.

If these fugitives, such as Ms. Head has so many aliases...and the aliases are known, then why haven't they been caught when they come across these type of criminals? How do they know for sure these names are connected with her name?

Hi skyler, that is a great question. I always find it weird when AMW and websites lists all the aliases used by fugitives and I often ask myself "wait a second, they have all this information on names they've used, yet they STILL can't find them?" lol. I wish I could better answer the question, but perhaps from checking out old residences they may find their fake ID's or other items with false names on it. I also assume speaking with friends, family, and acquaintances can have the same effect.
Also, indirectly related, but often there are even more aliases. In my years of watching AMW, there have been plenty of times when an alias or identifying tattoo purposely wasn't given out for a fugitive and that's what helped lead towards their capture. The reason being when authorities get a tip on a possible fugitive sighting, and the tipster gives a name of an alias used that wasn't made public, they know it is a great tip.

When AMW aired her, they received some REALLY good tips. Interestingly, a lot of them were out of truck stops. I think on the archived site, they had a list of 5-6 tips they had worked on. I think an age-enhancement of her photos would help. Thing is, she may be in really bad shape by now if not dead due to her heavy drinking and smoking.

As I’ve said on another thread I really hope Hazel Head gets an airing next season on In Pursuit, and along with that, they could give her a couple age progressed images as well.
I’m wondering if they will ever add her to the FBI Top Ten, and the amount of tips they’d get on her. I personally miss the FBI adding 90s cases to the Top Ten List.

I'm not a fan of airing too many cold cases on In Pursuit as skewing more recent means a better chance at a capture (granted there hasn't been a capture yet, but that's because most so far this season are likely in foreign countries) but Hazel Head seems one of the more solvable of the cold cases and I'm surprised she hasn't been caught yet. I'd put Head on the top ten list only if one of the long-timers comes off. (Or at the very least if Bhadresh Patel ever comes off). Therefore it's less of a risk to add a cold case. Anyone wanted past 2015 I'd want to replace with a more recent fugitive to increase the odds of capture.

Santiago Mederos has been on the run since 2010, so if he gets caught, Head could fit in perfectly.

No and oddly Head is not listed in PACER despite being an FBI case. Then again she has so many aliases so who knows.
