Gilberto Franco Preciado is wanted for the 2010 double homicide of Oscar Castillo Flores, 25, and Jose Guadalupe Perez, 38, who were shot to death on Sept. 30. 2010. According to an archived Herald story, Castillo and Perez were found by authorities inside a gray Dodge pickup along FM 511. The truck and their bodies were riddled with bullets.
Oscar Castillo Flores was the nephew of a former member of the Gulf Cartel who later joined the Los Zetas cartel, those two organizations are now fighting a bloody turf war in Northeastern Mexico. Gilberto Preciado was also arrested in connection with the 2003 murder of a Los Zetas member in Laredo, Texas, but charges in that case was dropped.

UPDATE from site admin: A second suspect, Roberto Magallon-De Luna, was discovered as also wanted in this case and has been added to our website profile. Both fugitives are listed as still-at-large on the Brownsville P.D. website as of October 19th, 2019.
Thoughts? Despite the fact that Oscar and Jose's murders were cartel-killings in the United States, official statistics state that US border cities have much lower crime rates than the average, contrary to what is sometimes said in the media. Violence still exists, like it does around the world. Gilberto Preciado is a very dangerous person and we need to capture him and have him face a court of law before he ends up killed as a result of the Mexican drug war, which means he would not face a single day in jail for the two murders in Cameron County, Texas.
Based on online articles/wanted location, our advice for anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gilberto Preciado would be to contact the Cameron County Sheriff's Department at 956-554-6700.
