He'd be one of many fugitives getting out of their ankle bracelets. With the other one I know being Chris Ponce (technically he broke his), but I feel there should be some bigger steps that need to be made in order to capture Lyle Jeffs, the fact that he has connections make it difficult already and his face news to be put out there nationwide, once that happens flushing him out will take awhile.

I'll be damned... This is huge news that he isn't being taken as a light threat. Also he's been on the run the entire summer so I imagine why they finally came up with a reward.
Also doesn't anyone know if the falling out between Lyle and Warren is something new? As the article mentions it.

I doubt he'd commit suicide over financial crimes and his lawyers may be saying that to get the authorities to stop looking for him alive but instead recover a body.

Just wanted to add I incorrectly stated Lyle as Warren's son. He's actually his brother. Normally I wouldn't call myself out in public and would just discreetly edit but I didn't want anyone reading this thread for four months to be confused I was suddenly calling him Warren's brother.

I was just thinking of that. Warren and Lyle are really close in age.
If Warren banished Lyle, then Lyle might be an easy grab. Lyle faces 2 or 3 decades for the fraud charges, right?

I'm trying to find specifically the possible sentence but can't at the moment. Obviously it would probably be significant if convicted but as John Walsh states a lot of times these guys plea bargain and plead guilty for lighter sentences.

Well this changes the game, basically Warren disowning Lyle could be easy to capture and won't be getting any help. Also Warren has a son named Lyle and a brother named Lyle as well, but hearing this news means he's not being assisted by anyone.

With this new information I decided to share Jeffs' profile again on our social media pages.

Lyle is a high priority in 2017, I'm shocked that he's been at large this long.

Update: SALT LAKE CITY — A federal judge has found fugitive polygamist leader Lyle Jeffs in default in a child labor case. In an order entered in U.S. District Court on Monday night, Magistrate Judge Jill Parrish found Jeffs and the Fundamentalist LDS Church defaulted in the case. The U.S. Department of Labor sued Jeffs and the FLDS Church in connection with a pecan harvest in southern Utah back in 2012, where hundreds of children were put to work on a farm. The feds accused Jeffs and the church of not paying them. The decision could leave Jeffs and the Hildale-based polygamous church on the hook for millions. He was served with papers while briefly incarcerated in 2016 in connection with a food stamp fraud case. However, shortly after being released to home confinement, the FBI said Jeffs used olive oil to slip out of a GPS monitoring device and escape. The FBI is currently offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Jeffs’ arrest and conviction. Jeffs is the brother of imprisoned FLDS leader Warren Jeffs, who is currently serving a life sentence for child sex abuse related to underage “marriages.” fox13now.com/2017/06/12/fugitive-flds-leader-lyle-jeffs-is-in-default-in-child-labor-case/

I am seconding Toptenhunter's statement from January as to the fact that Lyle Jeffs is actually still on the run one year later. If his followers are keeping him out of sight from potential tipsters, then it's going to take something like a traffic stop to get this guy arrested at this rate. That's how Warren Jeffs was apprehended.
On the other hand, if his followers are facing millions in losses related to Lyle's actions, they may turn on him and no longer support his flight from prosecution.
