No new updates but just wanted to bump this up again and put it back in the spotlight. Obviously, despite the sightings, the Reed brothers haven't been caught in Mexico yet. I personally am not surprised though. Despite all the talk about their funds and not being able to fit in, John Reed survived a landslide that killed 43 other people. (I'm not sure if Tony Reed did also). So he at least has proven to be a resourceful person. These guys aren't dummies unfortunately and can be survivalist. But if they're brought in, it will be because of public tips, so anyone following the case, continue to keep an eye out, especially if you're traveling to Mexico anytime for vacation in the near future.

Update: Sometime this week Crime Watch Daily will do a segment on this case. I will upload whenever they post the video.

Watched the Crime Watch Daily segment. It was somewhat brief and basically just a summary of what we already knew in this case so maybe that's why no video was uploaded.

Tony Reed made good on his promise to cooperate and the bodies of Patrick Shunn and Monique Patenaude are believed to have been found in rural Snohomish County. I can't imagine what must be going through the minds of Patrick and Monqiue's families right now. It's obviously devastating to know officially they're no longer alive, as bleak as the circumstances looked, any glimmer of hope is now gone, but at the same time relief that the burden of not knowing has been lifted. And now it's time for justice to be served in this case. One down, one to go. So if anyone spots John Reed in Mexico or anyone else, I implore them to call the Marshals service. A stupid dispute over land should never have led to murder. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/monique-patenaude-patrick-shunn-remains-found-1.3598414

UPDATE: More arrests have been made in connection with the murders of a B.C. woman and her Washington husband. Snohomish Country Sheriff Office says they have arrested the parents of murder suspect John Reed for rendering criminal assistance in the first degree. In previous interviews with the police, 81-year-old Clyde Reed and 77-year-old Faye Reed admitted to giving their vehicle to their sons to flee the area. The couple also admitted to transferring the title from John’s truck, believed to have been used in the murders, to Faye Reed’s name – and to providing the men with financial assistance. www.630ched.com/syn/112/192352/parents-of-suspects-in-washington-state-murders-arrested

I admit I had forgotten about this case for the past month and I was sort of surprised that John is still a fugitive. Now that we know that his elderly parents have been giving him financial support while he was on the run, it's possible that he used that money to settle down somewhere in Mexico while he's trying to start a new life for himself.

I honestly can't say I'm surprised. Reed is a survivor. He survived the landslide. He unfortunately is capable of adapting. This is why I hope the Marshals consider putting him on their top 15 list. I think public tips will be what catches him.
