We'll see what happens, but in general the FBI's director job is to just say yes or no after the collaborative effort in naming a selection is done. So whoever is the first one under Wray is likely going to be the same guy Comey would have approved anyway. I guess it's just the timing of the matter as the director is recently sworn in.

It's Thursday and the FBI hasn't rotated their fugitives yet and it makes me wonder if they have an addition to the top ten list planned for today?

Never-mind, the FBI just updated their site and no new fugitive was added to the top ten, but let's hope that comes soon.

Your right I forgot about that too, since usually the FBI tends to add fugitives when they don't update their site on Thursday's. Also the FBI's current Case of the Week is new. 😊

The possibilities are now endless with Luis Macedo's capture now in terms of fugitives the FBI can add.

The possibilities are now endless with Luis Macedo's capture now in terms of fugitives the FBI can add. They really need to add somebody as there's now three open slots (if the Hunt captures Patel that would make four open slots- has that ever happened before?)- I assume a new director and it being the summer are combined reasons. Usually all the director has to do is approve or disapprove a collaborative selection, but perhaps there still needs to be time for the settling in process.

The FBI hasn't ever had 4 open slots before. I remember 3 slots open back when they caught Harper, Preciado and Lopez-Orozco in 2009 and this past winter with Van Wisse, Marlon Jones and Terry Strickland. But having 4 slots would be epic.
Now I'm assuming if the Christopher Wray wants to work fast to make the new additions to the list, then I'd think by October or November, if not then in December, usually the FBI adds a Fugitives in December.

First off, I want to thank whoever created this blog so much. I think it's so awesome that there are people who want to be vigilant of most wanted fugitives and big cases. I know that I'm a big supporter of helping these cases get solved and bringing justice for the victims. With all of these fugitives getting caught from the FBI's 10 most wanted lately, it makes you wonder who the FBI are going to add next to the 10 most wanted list to fill in those slots. I wouldn't be surprised if Thayne Smika, Alfonso Diaz-Juarez, and/or Jorge Landeros were added to the top 10 most wanted. But I just have to give credit and thanks to the FBI and their efforts. You guys totally rock! I just wish I knew how to raise awareness to other people so that they can be up to date with these horrible fugitives and other big cases...

Welcome to the forum westongale! But yeah I consider this a message board/forum as opposed to a blog but whatever, were still all active participants in discussing these cases. While I created the forum, toptenhunter created the "FBI Top Ten Discussion" thread so this specific thread was his great idea.

Also I wanted to share this wonderful treat, it's a picture of Walter Yovany Gomez in custody in New Jersey

All those Fugitive you mentioned Westongale were featured on The Hunt with John Walsh, however many of the fugitives the FBI added in the past ended up on upcoming seasons of The Hunt. One fugitive I think could be a possible addition and also a featured Fugitive for season 5 next year is Barrett Busschau, who is wanted for molesting 5 girls in Oregon in 1993. What makes me choose him over any Fugitive is that he was recently added to the FBI website just like Robert Van Wisse. Also like Van Wisse, Barrett Busschau is still very young being born in 1975, he's only 42 years old. Busschau has never been on a crime show, so perhaps The Hunt may want to pick up the case for next season as investigators have requested help in locating him. So that's who I think could be added and have an episode done on them, but who knows maybe they might go back in time and add earlier The Hunt fugitives on the FBI site. But looking back at what has happened in the past, recently added FBI website Cold Case fugitives like Busschau and Thayne Smika may end up on the FBI 10 Most Wanted List.

I just remembered that Donna Borup who is on the FBI site and a featured Fugitive on this season of The Hunt also could be a potential Fugitive for the Ten Most Wanted list if the FBI wanted to take things on a whole different level.

The Hunt has aired multiple FBI fugitives that never made the top ten list, let alone someone wanted for so long.
That's not to say the FBI can't add her, but I don't see it happening.

This isn't really a post meant as a Top Ten candidate hypothesis as much as it isn't an FBI site question. But which one of the current CAC fugitives is similar in terms of crime to former fugitive David Lee Sheffield?
i know Stanley Simms, Ranger Lacy, Rene Ramirez and Luis Tejada are wanted for Child pornography, but which case has striking similarities to Sheffield?
