Shreveport police and police dogs are searching house to house in the Queensbourough neighborhood as the search for Grover D. Cannon continues.
Cannon, 27, has spent most of his life in that neighborhood and family members still live there.
The police department and Mayor Ollie Tyler are asking residents to help them find a man accused of fatally shooting a Shreveport police officer Wednesday night.
Cannon is wanted on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Shreveport police Officer Thomas LaValley, 29, of Shreveport. Cannon also faces an attempted murder charge after an unrelated shooting on Judson Street in Shreveport July 15.
Cannon's last known address was in the 3400 block of Judson Street in Shreveport.
Police believe he was last seen in the 3500 block of Del Rio Street, when he allegedly fatally shot Officer Thomas LaValley after LaValley confronted him.
Police say Cannon is considered dangerous.
Call the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-BLUE (2583) or Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 to provide information in this case.
Really frustrating that this is the second week in a row we've had a breaking news case of a murdered cop. Cannon was already wanted for an attempted murder charge so this just heightens the danger. Hopefully the search ends soon.
