MCCALLA, AL - A Jefferson County man is missing. His wife and two children are dead. Their bodies were found Sunday night. Crime scene technicians spent all day Monday at the home.
A sheriff's office spokesperson says Stephen Sean Hutcheson is not considered a suspect or a person of interest but they are concerned for his well being. They ask for the public's help in locating him.
The family's home on Coleman Lake Road is surrounded by crime scene tape. A vehicle is also missing from the home.
Family members went to the home Sunday night after not hearing from the family all weekend. They called authorities who found the bodies in separate rooms. All had been shot to death.
Neighbor Roger Franklin didn't know the two children, 14 year old Kimberly and 12 year old Peyton, only hearing them from time to time playing outside. He says he loved to hear Kimberly sing as she was swinging on the swing set in their back yard.
Early Saturday morning he says after watching a movie he heard what sounded like a gunshot. He went outside to check and saw nothing unusual.
"It's really mind boggling to me. You can't get over it thinking about those babies. How anybody could do that, it's just astonishing," said Franklin.
Franklin says it is very difficult to even think Hutcheson could have anything to do with this tragedy. "I've met him several times and would never imagine that. I would not go down that road."
The vehicle missing from the home is a 2005 silver Dodge Stratus.
The children were students at McAdory. The principal calling this a truly tragic loss. He asks that the community pray for the family.

Thoughts? If Stephen Hutcheson is the murderer of his wife and two children then this is the Alabama version of Robert Fisher/Vernon Henry/William Bradford Bishop/Esnel Jean/John List, etc. However, no murder warrant has been issued for Stephen, he's only wanted for questioning at the moment, but obviously it is very important that law enforcement finds him.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has information about Stephen Hutcheson’s location to call their main dispatch number which is (205) 325-1450.
