Remarks: Hapilon graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Engineering. Hapilon may travel to Saudi Arabia and Malaysia. TIPS: If you have any information concerning this person, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.Isnilon Totoni Hapilon is one of the FBI's Most Wanted terrorists. He was a web-exclusive case on AMW's old website. Below is the wikipedia entry describing his criminal history: "Isnilon Totoni Hapilon (born March 18, 1966) is a leader of the Filipino terrorist organization called the Abu Sayyaf Group. He is thought to have recently suffered a stroke, which has limited his activity with the group. Hapilon is also known as The Deputy, and by aliases including Abu Musab, Sol, Abu Tuan, Esnilon, and Salahuddin. He is a citizen of the Philippines, a thin man at 5'6" and only 120 pounds. He speaks Tausug, Tagalog and Yakan, as well as English. His whereabouts are unknown; he may travel to Saudi Arabia and Malaysia. In 2002 Hapilon and four other ASG members -- Khadaffy Janjalani, Hamsiraji Marusi Sali, Aldam Tilao, and Jainal Antel Sali, Jr. -- were indicted in Guam and in the United States for their role in the 2000 Dos Palmas kidnappings of 17 Filipinos and three Americans, and the eventual beheading of one of the Americans, Guillermo Sobero. Hapilon is the only one of the five indicted who is still alive. On February 24, 2006, Hapilon, along with Janjalani and Jainal Sali, Jr. was added to the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorists list. The Rewards For Justice Program of the United States Department of State is offering up to US$5 million (approx. 230,000,000 Philippine pesos as of August 2010) for information on Hapilon's location. In the late 1980s Hapilon graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Engineering. Hapilon was wounded in April 2013 in an army offensive that killed eight other rebels in the southern Philippines. Hapilon was hit during a raid but his followers managed to drag him off safely before soldiers could seize control of the rebel base. Sometime in 2013–2014, Abu Sayyaf released a video confirming that Isnilon was alive. In the video, he claimed to have officially broken up with al-Qaeda and pledged alliance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant. Thoughts? It is interesting Hapilon suffered a stroke. However, he is still likely still involved in terrorism and still dangerous until the day he's caught and/or confirmed dead. www.fbi.gov/wanted/wanted_terrorists/isnilon-totoni-hapilon/viewen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isnilon_Totoni_HapilonAdmin Note: If you have any news-related updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

Okay this is my top wanted fugitive and this whole conflict in the Philippines I've read about it over and over again and the Moro people just want an independent/autonomous state in particular the MNLF but these Abu Sayaf nuts ruin it for the actual movement with their extremism, and Isnilon Hapilon's pledging of alliegance to IS is one aspect that he mean business.
Now when I was younger in 2010/2011 before Bin laden was killed I was hoping this guy would take his place on the ten most wanted list but it should be reserved for wanted fugitives accused of murder/CAC etc.
Now when your dealing with leaders of these organizations whether criminal like Eduardo Ravelo or insurgent/terrorist like Osama Bin Laden, these guys are the leaders in the hierarchy and stay hidden for a significant amount of time because of:
•loyal supporters are high up in the ranks and in case they have died they won't confirm their death as was done with the leader of the Taliban who had been dead for 2 years without the outside knowing until Afghan intelligence confirmed it last summer.
•they are always on the move.
•they may live in compounds where they don't know they are there which turns out to be a failure of the intelligence service.
•they are difficult to track and they have a tendency to hide in the wilderness or go underground.
Hapilon I see he's going to die or has died of his health issues unless the Philippines military launches an operation to get him or kill him.

Here's a video of who appears to be allegedly Hapilon in the middle while they pledged to IS, while I don't understand what they are saying the video matches with the timeline of when they pledged. This was found on YouTube. youtu.be/7ceiRgx3j6M

One of the few positive things if not, the only, about having a colorful strongman like Rodrigo Duterte as President of the Republic of the Philippines, is that Isnilon Hapilon and company may finally go down, but this isn't to fully reward Duterte, because he's committed gross human rights violations as well.

The Philippines has been in the news lately because of a clash that happened in Marawi. It appears that Philippine troops along with police tried to capture FBI Most Wanted Terrorist Isnilon Hapilon, but units loyal to him started a fire fight. Again they were so close to getting this guy either in custody or killed. news.abs-cbn.com/focus/05/23/17/timeline-maute-attack-in-marawi-city

It's disappointing they didn't capture him but at least this shows there's still an effort to.

It's disappointing they didn't capture him but at least this shows there's still an effort to. It really is disappointing but the Battle of Marawi, is still ongoing and it's unclear where Isnilon Hapilon is. Either he may have retreated with his trusted aides or he wasn't even there to start with. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Marawi

Oh my goodness this is the greatest news I’ve heard this week. I’m glad at least now we don’t have to worry about him and it sets a very personal score ☺️
