This is an alleged career gang banger who helped beat a 15-year old boy with a bat, shoot him in the head, and set him on fire. So I'm going to have to respectfully disagree that he has any remorse at all. He's always been an alleged thug. (At least Robert Fisher and Jason Brown lived somewhat religious lives before they became alleged monsters).
But yeah, obviously we never know for sure what goes on in these guy's heads.

Perhaps he's hiding out in an area where the gang is more active (don't want to say the name for obvious reasons since I don't want them to keep getting credit).
But he would likely be hiding out among them in the United States, I don't really see this guy down in Mexico unless he got very desperate and went down there.
Now living in Mexico is more difficult if he went down there alone, he had to have stopped acting like a thug and gotten a real manual labor job, and probably got rid of those ridiculous "I'm affiliated" tattoos (not saying all people with tattoos are ridiculous).
If he is still in the U.S. He could still link up with other members in other areas and that's what's starting to growl at me, but again the group will can only stand Macedo's company so long that he would likely bring heat along.
I haven't really said this but personally this case strikes a nerve, I have a 15 year old brother and I care a lot about him, for Macedo to take away someone's brother, Son, Grandson, Nephew, cousin, etc in that way is something that hits me with a reality that there are some very sick people out there, some who only thrive in thuggery and others who have no problem taking a life away.
Sorry for getting on my soapbox, these cases hit me with a reality and being still in high school puts things into perspective big time.

I hate to say it but I can't tell you not to worry about such things happening because obviously- they happen. And Alex Arellano was a total innocent- not in a gang or anything.
All I can say is the more teenagers stay out of trouble- the less likely this is to happen to them. Teenage years are meant to be care free years. Go to parties, but be leery of ones gang members attend, for example. And as much as it sucks to legitimize them or give them any credit- while NEVER joining a gang- you pretty much have to show them respect at the same time as to not be hurt. So if they say "hey want to join us" you can't be like "no, you guys are trash" but have to sadly say something like "No, but I respect you." (Even if you really don't respect them). The sad reality is because of initiations or gangs just wanting to cause trouble, there's never any guarantee, but I'd say it does significantly reduce the chances of something horrible like what happened to Alex Arellano happening to anyone else. (I also stress Alex Arellano was the victim and he is not at fault in any form whatsoever).
If Macedo was in the United States at the time of his addition to the Top 10 list, then with all the added publicity, he probably wants to flee to Mexico now. Whether he gets there or not or already was there we won't know until he's captured.

I agree Alex isn't at fault since he wasn't bothering anyone and he seemed like the type of kid that didn't want any trouble, like the guy had no tattoos him his body and told them he wasn't affiliated and they just wanted trouble, these gang bangers as we can say already messed themselves up and they look for younger ones in High school and even Middle School (Junior High) to join them, the teens are somewhat the victims and these cause them trouble, they are no better than someone doing peer pressure, the one question I ask is why do these gangbangers exist?
Like you totally right teens showing more respect when they are spoken too is a huge thing since it avoids a person being killed or shot at(not saying Alex was being disrespectful, but these thugs pushed it a little too far), even if a person keeps to themselves, focuses on themselves and does what they need to do that's a great help for the most part but like you said there's never any guarantee.
Honestly this case really makes the point that street gangs are flat out ridiculous and irrelevant.

Same here but with this case at least it was late than never.
This is one of those cases that is very heart breaking all around regardless of who you are, it was a young innocent victim killed by a street gangbanger who has violent tendencies and hasn't been seen in 7 years, the FBI director announcing this guy was a great move on his part since it gives Alex's family hope that this monster will now look over his shoulders constantly.

Oh okay thanks. By the way this is one of the best additions to the list, we got him and Policarpio as a 2 for the price of 1 type of thing.
Personally I've been to the Chicago area and it's a very diverse area and there are some Hispanic communities to the north and west of the city and Macedo can hide out in those neighborhoods or hide out in a home in that area still being a thug without a job.
But this theory however can get quashed by the amount of time that has passed that likely indicates he's likely in Mexico, buts it's hard to figure out where he or his family may have ties to since that information isn't known.
