Robert Durst, the subject of the HBO series "The Jinx," has been arrested in Texas for the murder of family friend, Susan Berman, back in 2000. Susan Berman was killed around the time investigators were preparing to question her about the 1982 disappearance of Durst's wife, Kathie Durst. The Susan Berman murder was profiled on the February 10, 2001 episode of AMW, and Durst's November 2001 capture report claims that he was set to be profiled just hours before his capture, but he's not listed on the December 1, 2001, profile page (though it's possible they removed him like they did with Timothy McGhee). At the time he was wanted for killing his neighbor in Texas, but was acquitted at his 2003 trial. I'm curious to see what finally led investigators to charge Durst with Susan Berman's murder. abc13.com/558767/

Durst was also considered a suspect in the Karen Marie Mitchell disappearance- which I personally find ridiculous. As much as it's been proven he's not the nicest guy (although not legally guilty of anything... yet), it seems a lot of our fellow web sleuths want to connect EVERY case on the planet to a guy like Durst or Israel Keyes. I didn't see any connection besides he happened to be in the same town.
I haven't watched the HBO series but doing it is probably going to come back to bite Durst in the butt. Either something he said on the show didn't jive or the new publicity on him inspired police to dig deeper as it's almost like he was being rewarded for being a suspect in a bunch of unsolved missing cases or homicides.
Durst though- has nine lives. And the real question here in my opinion- is-will things be different this time?
He's been accused, suspected, or even charged in so many cases so many times it's actually an excellent defense as his lawyers will probably argue investigators are desperate to finally nail him for something.
But if there's going to be overwhelming circumstantial evidence in this case- it won't matter.

Found the archives for the Susan Berman case and Durst's capture report, but I can't link directly to it, instructions are below: web.archive.org/web/20020603162354/http://www2.amw.com/amw.html ((to find Berman case, click on archives- show- and then February 10th, 2001. To find Durst case, click on archives-captures- then go to November 2001).

Durst is or rather was an heir to the Durst real-estate organization so only the people involved in real estate on that list is he related to.

Durst has plead guilty to weapons charges stemming from his arrest at a New Orleans hotel, this paves the way for him to be extradited to California to stand trial for the murder of Susan Berman. Durst faces up to 7 years on the gun charges. (So thankfully, at least he will see some jail time in the future, even if 7 years isn't enough for what he's allegedly done). www.thewrap.com/robert-durst-pleads-guilty-to-gun-charges-faces-7-years-in-prison/

Sorry it's been such a busy week (or backlogged week), I forgot to update that Durst was found guilty yesterday! Jurors also agreed that the case met 'special circumstances' where Durst is eligible to be sentenced to life without parole (there is a moratorium on the death penalty in California but let's face it, at his age, he's definitely dying under any relatively lengthy sentence before he could ever get the needle anyway). His sentencing hearing is set for October 18th. www.cnn.com/2021/09/17/us/robert-durst-los-angeles-jury-verdict/index.html

Was reading that they were able to use previous statements he made after his acquittal on the murder of his roommate against him at trial. His own arrogance did him in.
