Charles Martin Vosseler is wanted for the abduction of his two young sons, way back in 1986 in Rockford, New Hampshire.
On October 9th, 1986, Vosseler allegedly kidnapped his two sons, Charles Jason Vosseler and William Martin Vosseler, from his Ex-wife who had their custody by law. Vosseler told his wife that he was taking the boys on a trip to visit family, only they never returned. Ruth Wilson, Vosseler's custodial Ex-wife, went to check her Ex-husband's small Real-Estate agency, she learned that he had shut it down and all his employees no longer had jobs.
A warrant for the arrest of Charles Martin Vosseler was issued the following day, charging him with Parental Kidnapping and Harboring. A month later, a federal arreat warrant was issued, charging him with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution. The case quickly went ice cold.
Two Years later in 1989, a girl Vosseler was dating at the time recodnized him and the boys from Vosseler's wanted poster. Charles Vosseler and the boys were living in Oklahoma. Vosseler was living under the alias of a college friend of his, Dr. Charles Wilson. Some Nine days later, FBI agents were preparing to arrest Vosseler. Only they came to a house burnt to the ground, with a note in his mailbox reading "the feds are coming".
Since then, there have been little to no leads on the case of Charles Martin Vosseler.
Thoughts? A very saddening story. I could see Vosseler and/or his two sons basically anywhere in the United States, most likely a suburban or larger rural community somewhere. I added Vosseler to my Dirty Dizen list out of (Dis)Respect of him being on the run so long, let alone his children being missing for so long. I am not sure about him being caught though as he has proven as more than an elusive prey these last 28 years. I think that it is more likely that his children will be located before he is.
