TIPS: If you have any information on Joe East's whereabouts you can submit an anonymous tip to Philly's Most Wanted at the following link: phillymostwanted.org/default.aspx?menuitemid=781&suspect=JOE%20EASTFugitive Joe East has been wanted by the Philadelphia Police Department since 1994. He was aired on AMW in July of 2004 and in August in 2005. Below is the archived description of his case: Police Say Jealous Ex-Boyfriend Commits MurderJoe East is wanted by the Philadelphia Police Department for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, 20-year-old Tamara Parrish. Her family says Tamara became involved in a relationship with East while she was in high school. But, police say, as she matured and entered her freshman year in college, Tamara attempted to sever the relationship. According to officials, East refused to let her go and began stalking Tamara. Brother, Sister Witness MurderOn the night of June 3, 1994, police say East repeatedly called the Parrish family residence using the pretense that he needed to borrow money from Tamara. Then, around midnight, police say East showed up at Tamara's home. Tamika, Tamara's sister, answered the door, and she gave him the money he supposedly needed. But, police say, he wouldn't leave; he wanted to see Tamara. According to officials, Tamika tried to close the door, but East pushed his way in and headed upstairs to Tamara's bedroom. Police say Tamara walked East back downstairs and tried to push him out the door. He got angry, and police say shot Tamara three times, point blank in the chest. Sadly, Tamara's brother and sister witnessed their sibling's murder. Joe East fled Philadelphia and the police have no leads as to his whereabouts. Thoughts? Unfortunately the cops seemed stumped before the AMW airings. It's now been over two decades and East is still not in custody, so he very well could have fled to his native Jamaica in my opinion. web.archive.org/web/20070811114916/http://www.amw.com/fugitives/case.cfm?id=23950phillymostwanted.org/default.aspx?menuitemid=781&suspect=JOE%20EASTUPDATE: As of July 23rd, 2018, East is still listed as an at-large fugitive on Philly's Most Wanted: phillymostwanted.org/default.aspx/MenuItemID/396/MenuGroup/Public+Most+Wanted.htmAdmin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

I'm convinced East was profiled before 2004, based on evidence in the profile itself. Firstly, the old AMW theme music is playing in the background during the profile (AMW hadn't used that music in about 10 months at the time of his August 2004 airing). The detective AMW interviewed was credited as being retired at the time of his 2004 airing, and in the interview with the victim's sister, she said, "He needs to be stopped. That's why I called America's Most Wanted to see that justice can prevail." The quality of the interview appears to have been done about the same time of the murders, which leads me to believe AMW aired East sometime around 1995-1996.

Your reasoning makes sense. What I'd also like to know is why they profiled him twice in the same month in 2005. Was there updates? Even if they didn't SAY they got some good leads, airing him so soon afterwards would indicate they did.

Since he's been at large for over twenty years, there's a good chance he fled back to Jamaica. Anyway, I checked the Philadelphia Most Wanted page that Scumhunter linked and it appears that East isn't the only cold case fugitive listed out of that city. I counted five other fugitives with older photos and it's very difficult to find out information regarding their cases. Frusturating since I would have no issue adding their cases to this forum if I simply knew more about them.

I was wondering how he was profiled twice in a summer month since AMW was technically off the air and playing reruns in August LOL.

There was a UFAP warrant for East but it was dismissed on December 27th, 2018, after he was unable to be located and "due to other investigative priorities." The "good" news if you want to call it that, is it doesn't say dismissed with prejudice. ecf.paed.uscourts.gov/doc1/153117612304

I feel that the Philadelphia field office might have gone through some of their old cases and decided they weren't going to investigate them anymore.
