Christmas Eve Murder
A brutal murder outside of a Massachusetts nightclub has left one family searching for justice. On Christmas Eve, 1999, Danny Guzman, a 26-year-old father of two, was leaving a holiday party at the Tropigala nightclub when police say he was gunned down by 20-year-old Edwin Novas.
According to officials, Novas had an argument with another bar patron earlier in the night, and was waiting outside for him to leave. But cops say that when Novas opened fire, he killed Danny, an innocent bystander, and wounded another man. Then, Novas disappeared.
The murder weapon was recovered on December 29, 1999 -- by a 4-year-old. The child was playing in an empty lot not far from the crime scene. Authorities determined that the gun used in the killing had been stolen from a local gun factory by an employee, a drug addict who supported his habit by trading guns for drugs and cash. Police say the weapon was taken from an assembly line before it was stamped with a serial number.
The Massachusetts State Police has added Edwin Novas to its Most Wanted List, and hopes you can help track him down.
Thoughts? The above was Novas's AMW archive from 2007. He was aired on the November 11th, 2006 of AMW on Fox. I don't know if he was aired after that. I figured this was the perfect case with Christmas Eve coming up soon which means it will be 15-years since the day of the tragic murder.
As far as whereabouts, of course based on the passage of time and being one of Massachusetts 10 Most Wanted Novas might be in the Dominican Republic. But wherever he is, he shouldn't get away with shooting and killing an innocent bystander just because someone else annoyed him that night.
