This was a murder that happened in Chicago in August 1976. Catherine Taylor was shot numerous times during a domestic dispute outside her home. She later died from her injuries. Investigators say her husband Leeson Taylor was the person responsible. Leeson was subsequently charged with murder.
Shortly after the murder, police learned that Taylor had told a union official that he was moving to Alaska to work on a pipeline as an electrician. The FBI obtained a federal warrant charging Taylor with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in order to assist in the search for Taylor. But agents say as they were closing in on him in Alaska, he fled to Jamaica.
In November 1997 the FBI discovered that the Cook County arrest warrant was no longer active in the National Crime Information Center database, so the FBI investigation was closed.
The FBI later discovered there had actually been a clerical error. In March 2012, Chicago Police contacted federal agents again for assistance as they renewed their efforts to investigate the murder of Catherine Taylor. A relative of Catherine provided information that Taylor may have returned to the United States and that he may be living in the Atlanta, Georgia area, where he has family members. The FBI now hopes a Fox 32 News viewer will contact it, or local police, with information about where Taylor is.
Here is the best description the FBI has of Leeson Taylor:
--black male
--now 74 years old
--about 5'5"
--about 150 pounds
--brown eyes
--his hair was black at the time the crime occurred, but may now be gray
Despite how much time has past since this crime, Taylor is still wanted for murder. If you have any information about his whereabouts, you are asked to contact the FBI or local police.

Thoughts? This is the last case the FOX station in Chicago covered as part of their Most Wanted feature in December 2013. It's frustrating that authorities almost had him in Alaska and he's still managed to elude them for all these years. If it's true that he's now living in the Atlanta, Georgia area then perhaps he can finally be caught.

UPDATE: I could not find any recent articles online in the four years since HeadMarshal first posted this case. However, as far as I can tell, Taylor is still at large as of this update (7/29/2018), since I haven't found anything online suggesting otherwise. If anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
